GRILLED CHEESE SANDWICH

There is nothing more satisfying then a classic grilled cheese sandwich. I can have it all day, every day. Toasted and crispy on the outside and melted, gooey cheese on the inside, it is the ultimate comfort food. 

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 slices of toast bread (white or brown)

  • 1 slice mozzarella cheese

  • 1 slice cheddar cheese

  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese

  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried basil)

  • 1 tablespoon butter, room temperature

PREPARATION

1. Spread cream cheese on the inside of each slice of bread.

2. Layer mozzarella and cheddar cheese and top with basil.

3. Heat a pan over medium heat, and spread the butter on the outside of each slice of bread.

4. Place the sandwich in the pan and grill for about 2 or 3 minutes until the cheese begins to melt and the bread turns a nice golden brown.

5. Flip and grill on the other side for another 2-3 minutes. 

6. Enjoy! Best served with a side of crisps.

Notes:
You can add different types of cheeses such as Gouda or Emmental cheese for a four cheese sandwich.

You can also add fresh tomato slices for extra flavor.

You can use any type of bread available to you to make the sandwich.
